Remarks:
This fish rocks, and yet, for all intents and purposes it has no ventral fins.  What were ventral fins are basically reduced to nubs. And yet check out the patterning on the lower right cheek.  This fish is one of the most promising in terms of pattern, and is also one of the most developed to date, strongly showing exactly how the Lightning pattern will likely evolve and refine as these fish mature.  At least that’s my hypothesis.
This fish has a very slight nape crook, but the obvious flaw is the ventral fins..or rather lack thereof.  A fish like this is so nice that I probably wouldn’t cull it despite the ventral issue..it’d be like killing a Clarion Angelfish because it was missing an eye.  Of course, in 5 or 10 years, such a fish probably will wind up as a cull…there is definitely something to be said for striving to produce quality fish as a marine breeder.  Overall, the defects are not presumed genetic at this time, and the main reason for offering these fish is to broaden the size of the F1 population going forward (ensuring genetic stability where possible).
Update:
As of June 24th, 2014, I was able to publicly reveal that this clownfish was won by Sea & Reef Aquaculture, and is the foundation fish of their line of Lightning Maroon Clownfish.
